	Centini Dine In Reopening

	Centini will reopen for dine in on the evening of Monday, February 8th. We look forward to seeing our friends and customers back within. Additionally we will be OPEN on SUNDAY for Valentine's Day, offering both a brunch and a la carte dinner dining. The menu will also be available for delivery through our store on this site and will be published in the next day or so. As social distancing is still in place, please reserve your spot early. 	Delivery, Curbside and Takeout OPEN - Dine In Closed Again

	We have been closed for dine in again as of December 13th. We continue to live virtually on the internet via our own store at www.centini.com and through the usual food delivery services such as Skip, DoorDash and Uber. Our current hours are noon to close. Have a look at our catering packages for families --- they are a good value. Of course, a la carte is always a wonderful option. If we can help you with any special food requirements please don't hesitate to call. Once again, our high performance kitchen is looking for work! 	SummerFeast 2020 is right around the corner

	Centini is delighted to be participating with other great restaurants in Summerfeast 2020. This 10-day prix fixe culinary event will run from Friday, August 21st to Sunday, August 30th, bringing together a select number of Calgary’s top chef-driven restaurants and enticing diners to get out and try some amazing food. Inspired by Calgary’s vibrant restaurant scene, Summer Feast was created to celebrate the fresh and flavourful ingredients of summer, while giving Calgarians the opportunity to experience the very best food that the city has to offer. Each restaurant’s feature menu reflects its individual culinary style while capturing flavours of the summer season. Each restaurant will offer a prix fixe lunch and/or dinner menu consisting of an appetizer, a main course and a dessert ranging from $25 - $65 per person. Here at Centini we have a three course offering for $35 at lunch and $65 for dinner. OpenTable and Avenue Calgary are returning sponsors for this event. After last year’s success, we are also partnering with Mealshare again. For every prix fixe menu sold, $1 will be donated to Mealshare to provide simple, healthy meals to youth in need! 	Underground Parking has Reopened

	I am very pleased to report that CPA's Lot 60 under the Telus Convention Centre has now reopened. What a relief! For those of you unfamiliar with this lot, it is accessed off of southbound (1way) 1st St SE, just south of 7th Avenue. You will need to be in the right hand lane and turn right into the Telus Convention Centre Parkade almost immediately as you cross over 7th Avenue. There you will find more than 300 underground spots and an elevator to the main floor. From there, you exit the building and we are about ten steps to the left. Parking is $5 for the evening from 4 p.m. onwards. With the availability to parking, I hope more guests will take the trouble to come downtown and visit us for lunch or dinner. We are open for lunch M-F from 11 a.m. to 2:30 or so. And for dinner from 4 p.m. until .... close...which can be early or late depending on what is going on. 	Father's Day is right around the corner --- Sunday, in fact. This year since everything is upside down, we are proposing celebrating Father's Day with us on Saturday night. We'd be delighted if you joined us here at the restaurant, but if you are social distancing -- or if Dad is --- consider our delivery service. 	May 27th, 2020 Our Dining Room is Open + Other News

	We've reopened our dining room with extreme social distancing. While it's easy to find a reason not to open --- the protocols are daunting to many --- we have a system in place to ensure everyone's safety. I've always said we don't do this work because it's easy --- it's hard. It's even harder without a full team. We're anxious to get back in the game. We're finding that the safest way for us to handle things here is to isolate dishes that have been on the floor in a separate sink with disinfectant before sending them through the regular dishwashing route. We've added some special touches that will make you feel special and safe. It's odd to see the tables so far apart and so few people here -- in some ways stranger than seeing the place completely empty except for takeout and delivery. Still, tt has been really wonderful to see a few regulars make their way back in. It's clear we're all starving for in person human interaction. Many people are juggling a lot and have been trying to work from home. It's still a joy to have someone else cook and clean up. While our customers were isolating, we built a robust little takeout and delivery business. This continues, albeit more subtly now that we have diners. Challenges Ahead I never would have predicted the challenges that we currently face. A big one is parking.All city of Calgary parkades, including Lot 60 or the TELUS Convention Centre Parkade remain closed for the foreseeable future. Parking on 8th Avenue in the evenings, an old standby for our regulars, is also not a go. So where to park? We're told private lots such as the Bow Building are open. It is an inconvenience not being able to park in the usual spots. Please make your plans around this obstacle and come and visit us if you can. If you can't, then order some delivery from our store. Every time we hear the bell of a new order, it is a validation and a celebration. All the care of instore dining is going into our takeout orders and with our driver, you will receive special care. As I look to the future, I know many of you will be back to see us and I look forward to this. You may see some new faces here. A calamity shakes things up and the pieces always come back together a little differently. We are not immune. Some of our team have moved one, are temporarily away or simply taking a break. 	Our Dining Room remains closed for now. Calgary restaurants are closed until May 25th earliest as Calgary continues to grapple with the COVID outbreak. We are taking reservations for that night. We are open for curbside pickup, takeout and delivery. Visit www.centini.com to order your dinner --- or one for someone else.

	Plans for Reopening

	On April 30th, The Premier of Alberta and Dr. Hinshaw indicated that the retail sector, including restaurants would potentially be going back to work as early as May 14th. This date caught me and many in our sector by surprise as I think most of us in hospitality were forecasting a much later date. We are continuing to monitor the news for further instructions. To my knowledge, no additional guidance has been given at this time. If you are following us then you already know from my numerous postings that we have remained open with a small team attending to takeout and delivery orders. We have also been undertaking the Mother Of All Spring Cleanings! 'm glad now that we started early! We will be in a position to reopen when the time is right. The reservation system open for May 14th --- but as all of us are learning, change and adjustment are required at a moment's notice. So we will be ready for anything. I'll be writing more in the coming days about what the best practices that will inform how we serve you once open. It would help us to receive advance reservations if you want to visit us so we can plan your seating and staff accordingly. I do not have a strong sense of market demand for dine in at this time, so your reservation will do a lot for me as I plan our go forward. 	Happy Tuesday, or whatever day you are having. It was cold this morning and that got me thinking about cold weather food again. There's plenty of that on our menu still. Maybe it's a night for Veal Scallopine with a side of Gnocchi Gorgonzola. Yes you can have that! Take a look at the wine list -- it's all 50% off and we can add that to your order, too. Our dinner menu and Catering Curbside service is live now on Uber if that's your thing, you know where to get it. If you could use a trip out of the house, call or email in your order. You can take a little drive in the car and pull right in front of our door at 160-8th AVenue SE, give us a ring and we'll be right out with your dinner. We are down here cooking, not stewing. 	On March 27 restaurants in Alberta were asked to close their dining rooms. We are offering our full lunch and dinner menus for takeout or delivery and have launched a new STAYIN catering menu that I hope you will enjoy and be able to use through this difficult time. We are taking order by email (events@centini.com) or by phone at 403-269-1600, extension0. If you prefer delivery over curbside pickup, we have had success with Uber deliveries. The restaurant is in the process of signing up on UberEats but everything is taking longer at this time and our menu is not fully loaded. Therefore, I would encourage you to download whichever menu you would like from the "Cuisine & Wine" tab and order directly from us. Alternately, you can use SkiptheDISHES or DoorDash if they cover your area. 	We have been monitoring the Calgary Emergency Management instructions for safe navigation of the current COVID situation. Restaurants have been asked to limit their dining capacity to 50 guests. Centini is licensed to hold multiples of this new number. For this reason, we are able to provide superior social distancing should you wish to dine in with us. 	March 16 - Centini Update

	We're keeping our dining room open and practicing safe social distancing outside of the home. Good healthy food is what Calgary needs right now -- whether in your own home or at the restaurant. We plan to keep on serving as much of our city as we can. If you feel up to going out or are running short of groceries, we will be here with a warm, safe welcome. Stay tuned for some exciting news about contactless pickup catering for when you just can't cook one more meal. We expect to have menu ready in the next day or so.
